I have loved candles and crafts for what seems like forever. Without realizing it my oldest son helped me achieve my dream of having my own business-THANK YOU ANDREW!! Andrew was selected as a Student Ambassador with People to People where he travelled to Australia in the summer of 2005. With this great honor came a great big bill. As we sat around trying to think of a way to raise money a friend mentioned she knew someone who raised their child’s tuition through selling candles and a red light went off. A year previously I had bought this amazing soy candle at a flea market and thought wow that would be great to sell. I truly believe soybean candles are a phenomenal product, and with that I set out to find the gentleman I had went back to and bought several more from. In my searching I thought to myself I could try to make them. So I spent a month researching soy and suppliers, before diving into experimenting. I was so blessed to have found reputable suppliers and met some wonderful chandlers who have helped me immensely (thank you Deb and Lisa for your expertise).
A year after starting my candle business I was bit by the Bath'n Body "Bug" (as we say in the business). I still LOVE making candles, but Bath'n Body products are now at the forefront of the business. I've added old fashion cold-processed handmade soap using lye to our product line as well as scrubs, perfume oil, lotion, body sprays, glycerin soaps, lip products, and body butters.

| On a personal note, I have been married for 14 years to my husband, and we have three beautiful boys. Rounding out our family is Oreo, our Shih-tzu, who is all black with a white line running down his belly.

| A special thanks to my husband who not only encouraged me, but picked up the slack in our busy lives so I could dedicate more time to my business. To my parents who believed in me. Thank you for drumming up business for me in the beginning and for lighting your first candle (mine). And of course my three babies who inspire me everyday. It’s only fitting that I name my business after them, For the Luv of JAM… “J”-Jacob, “A”-Andrew, and “M”-Matthew.
